Forged by Yu Kurosaki in Takefu Japan. Yu Kurosaki is a relatively young blacksmith working out of Takefu Japan, he began smithing in 2002 and apprenticed under Hiroshi Kato. Kurosaki-san incorporates many of his own designs utilizing new steels as well as working in more traditional materials.
Hap 40 made by Hitachi’s Yasugi Specialty Steels is a high alloy powder metal with exceptionally excellent edge holding and toughness. HAP 40 is not a stainless alloy but rusts slowly given it’s rich alloy composition, sometimes referred to as ‘semi-stainless’.
