French butcher cleaver with carbon steel blade, brass and steel rosette riveted wood handle marked Bourgade with horribly out of date trademark. The style of manufacture looks very 1930’s-50’s but could be older. Blade had seen some rust and errant grinding but nothing terribly abusive, handle is nice and secure even with the crack.
A handsome old cleaver that still has some work left in it with fresh sharp convex edge.
